On October 22-23, 2014 an International conference was held in the State Historical Museum of Religion in St.Petersburg as a follow-up event of the First Internet Festival of Museum Multimedia "The Museum Geek".

The Festival brings to the forefront the challenges of presentation of museums and historical and cultural heritage in the Internet, problems of innovative computer and multimedia products for museums and new competencies of the museum community. During the conference the best multimedia projects were presented and discussed. A round table devoted to new technologies in exhibitions, collections and educational activities of museums was also part of the Confrence.

The module of the Open Karelia museum information system was submitted by the National Museum of Karelia to the Festival and in May 2014 was announced the winner in the nomination “Programs for people with special needs”.  During the conference Marina Scherbak, the author of the module, received a special diploma of the winner and a prize.
